Miku’s Daikanshasai to be streamed on Nico

Daikanshasai on March 8-9, 2012

For those not lucky enough to be able to make it to Japan and fight fanatic otaku throngs for tickets (half of the battle involving chance due to the lottery system for ticket preorders) to this March’s set of VOCALOID concerts organized by SEGA, the evening set of concerts (MikuPa on the 8th and Final Kanshasai on the 9th) will be streamed live on Nico Nico Douga. Tickets will cost 2000 Nico Points each or 3500 Nico Points for both of them. Points can be acquired through Nico Nico Douga for roughly 1 JPY per point. However, for a limited time only (through the end of January), there’s a special one-use-only deal to buy 1000 points for 150 JPY. Nico Nico Douga will accept payments through foreign credit cards provided the credit card has some sort of verification system like Verified by VISA. Furthermore, like previous concerts in Japan, there will also be live streaming in theaters throughout Japan at the price of 3000 JPY per concert or 5400 JPY for two (either two people for a single concert or two concerts for a single person). Lastly, there’s also apparently a bundled hotel+ticket package for 39800 JPY per concert offered by travel agency JTB, who had organized overseas trips for MIKUNOPOLIS as well.

  1. Well the JTB package goes on sale the 23th, maybe that’s the only chance for foreigners to have a guaranteed ticket, but at 40k¥ that’s a hefty price to pay (and you have to add the travel), still they’re only selling 100 of these package, thus I guess they will sold out pretty fast.

    1. Depends on the details…is it for both concerts and a couple of nights in a good hotel? Then it really isn’t bad.

Of course cost of the airfare will dwarf that price anyway…

  2. Ouch, there’s no way I can watch this live, it’ll probably be streaming at around Thursday-Friday 6am my time, and I kind of have a *job*…

I could timeshift, but I want to watch it *live*, and if I can’t do so then why spend $50 on a stream when I could just import the BDs and watch it equally not-live?

But I’ll probably do it anyway. =/

  3. Wait… so the Daikanshai is the last 39’s Day concert? If it is, I hope they still have MikuPa for next year. I just love the MikuPa concerts! but if this is also MikuPa’s last year, I don’t know what I’d do! And the fact that most USA concerts are at cons don’t help at all. 🙁
