Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Update!

Well, as promised by SEGA, the site has been officially opened a few hours ago, exactly at 00:00:00 AM of 31 August, 2008, on Miku’s birthday. I can’t access the site due to the site having a HUGE traffic. Well, I did try to refresh my firefox for about 50 times, and it worked! And all that effort was rewarded by an awesome PV! Read on for more details about the game, as well as the trailer of it! =D

So what do you think of the trailer? There’s something more from the SEGA team! They’ve made a playable version of the game (but they didn’t release it to public T~T), and made a video on it!

Let’s start with the basics of the game. Here’s what the game would offer you.

  • The best rhythm game ever.
  • Great Hatsune Miku 3D graphics.
  • A storyline.
  • A lot of customization options.
  • Songs and customization options from the community at PIAPRO.

Those five makes up this game, Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA-. Let’s talk about them in more detail. So buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, or Square) would appear on the screen in random places, along with a small arrow on it. You then have to hit the buttons along with the rhtym (when the arrow makes a full revolution). The game itself is really straightforward, and you’ll understand it once you see it. Here’re some nice screens.

See the circle button there with the arrow? Once the arrow finished turning, hit circle! Follow the rhytm to get the best results!

Oh, and a "shooting star" would also guide you... When the "shooting star" hit the cross, press the cross button!

And of course, as you play it, more buttons would appear and the difficulty would go up!

And the game would have a “my room” feature. It’s pretty much like a central world where you’d save, go pick another song to play, and do other things. Of course, you’ll be able to customize it with anything you want. As you play the game, you’ll unlock more items.

This is probably the best rhythm game ever, with community songs from PIAPRO, and a great 3D graphic of Hatsune Miku. The song that appeared on the trailer above was one song from the Re:Package album, Strobe Night (I have no idea what that means), so maybe we could expect more livetune songs (as in Last Night, Good Night)? And I could also see Hachune Miku on the trailer… Maybe Ievan Polkka would be on the game too? I would be SO HAPPY if ryo songs are in the game. I WILL buy this game no matter what. What do you guys think about this game after seeing this article?

  1. The site also has a demo movie made to look like an amateur made video posted on Niconico. There, someone (maybe a SEGA’s designer or programmer) is playing the game on PSP. Click the white button on the front page, which reads “>>おまけも見てね (>> Please watch the extra),” then a new screen requiring a password will appear. (It currently takes a VERY long time.) The hint on the window says it is “the name of everyone’s green-haired idol. (four alpahets).” Enter the password, wait patiently, you’ll see the video.

  2. @htsuji: yeah, it loads VERY slowly now, I’m trying to upload it to my server (and here to this blog) so that everyone could see it. in about one hour, you should see it appearing in this site. for now, I embedded the video from YouTube (as you may see above) =D

  3. Uhhyaa… looks awesome (<— already want to play). I wonder about the songs though, will it be all-original? Or there’s possibility that they’re going to put popular songs in nico2 douga? xD Or there’s a feature where we can insert songs of our own (haha, maybe not possible…). Anyway, I look forward for the game <3~

  4. @sketchbaka: it is awesome! xD
I can’t wait to play it too =3
it’s the best rhythm game ever imo x3
about the songs… it’s a collaboration between SEGA and PIAPRO (SEGA x PIAPRO), so the songs would be from the community at PIAPRO, but there’s a possibility that they’re going to take more popular songs (like Strobe Nights on the trailer above, it’s from the Re:Package album). so it’s possible that they’re going to put in more livetune/kz songs or maybe even ryo songs! IF we could insert songs on our own, it’s the best game EVER. but I don’t think we could do that xD
oh, and a lot of the customization options are from PIAPRO too… looking forward to the game too <3
