Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade Edition

According to information posted on the Piapro blog back on Oct 5th, it has been revealed that the new sequel to the Vocaloid game will tentatively be called “Project DIVA Arcade”. SEGA has put up a notice as a competition inviting members of the public to submit original and unreleased Miku songs.

The length of the songs must be between 2:30-3:30 minutes and the competition will start from October 15th 2009 – October 31st 2009. Selected songs will subsequently be announced on November 16th and the music will be used for testing somewhere in January 2010. Winners will receive Hatsune Miku merchandise for their efforts as well. For more info and a video about this just continue reading after the break!

Also, Piapro has announced the start of an event in which artists can contribute to the game as well. There will be three categories of participation for this: A) Costume Design, B) Illustrations for original Vocaloid songs, and C) Illustrations for the “Now Loading” screens. Currently all the categories are open and will close on October 25th at 1700 hours Japan Time for Category A and November 23rd at 1700 hours Japan Time for both Categories B and C. You can click on the links for each category to view the submissions currently, and for those interested, the rules for image submissions as well.

So it’s not on the PS3 at least, but anyway we will be looking forward to more news of it and bringing them to you then. ^_^

Edit: Oh, the Project DIVA channel on Nico Nico Douga has reopened following the news, so you may want to take a look there as well. 🙂
