…no, not the rankings. I am. I think there’s a heatwave happening here in my country and I’m literally on the verge of having a heatstroke. The only thing keeping me alive right now is my trusty industrial-grade electric fan, but even then it’s blowing hot, dry wind on my face.

Anyways, onto the related news… I’m expecting only one song to show up on the charts this week, and it’s the spiritual successor to the Synchronicity-series IMHO. That’s it. I’m still stoked on getting my daily dose of Bloody Hell. On the editors’ side of things, last week I asked red2 to be little bit more active on the V-ism community if he wants to get his position back… He replied by promising to be less active on the forums from now on. Son, I am disappoint.

So, with those shenanigan out of the way… ON TO THE RANKINGS!!!

Naho’s Opening Statement:

Good morning everyone. It’s time for Vocaran. It’s cold gloomy whether even though it’s spring…

New life has begun, and I’m sure it’s hard to get accustomed to. But don’t worry too much, and let’s just take it easy.

Anyway, why don’t we take a rest watching VocaRan? I’ll show you videos in which some are popular, and others are touching. Let’s get started from 30th as usual!

In Other Vocaloid News:

Since there’s no news listed this week, I’m going to take this opportunity to remind our loyal readers that the Vocaloid Ranking SP5 is coming up. Look forward to it!

Final Thoughts/Analysis:

Okay, who was the one in charge of creating the video this week? Because they were really sloppy with the audio fadeouts for the top 3. In any case, hi, for those of you who forgot about me, I’m red2, second-fiddle Vocaran analyst. JM’s the first fiddle, if you’re wondering. This week surprised me, actually. Be it the amount of Kagamine songs this week, how far the top three fell (#3 went to #31 by the way), or by the fact that the soon-to-be-untracked “Sensitive to…” jumped back up to 28, it was an all over the place day for me.

JBF suffered its worst week under the new system, even though the points earned were far from paltry (47k got it 18th place in 125). Speaking of awkward points, I don’t think #3 should have gotten as high as it did. 33k of views is hardly enough to make ranks. It’s that damn Mylist multiplier again. I’m still a proponent of bringing that thing down to a 25 max to see the true popularity by views. Normally, now, I would choose my Rising Starlet of the Week, but I’ve had three or four that have the potential to get a major lift next week. Keep an eye on my comments to see which they are.

On the sloppy editing: apparently the person in charge has a high fever, according to the tags, so chill. (lol pun)

The random songs getting boosted (which has been very consistent over past weeks) is really puzzling me. One thing I’ve noticed: all the previously-dead songs that have been revived recently are all Luka songs. This week’s are #6 and #21. I don’t know if it matters, but I feel like it must be a conscious effort on a group of people, but I don’t have any idea why. It might be connected to the dropping off of the ostensibly-impervious regulars (even though Paradichlorobenzene, against all odds, actually returned– possibly due to a boost from #4). You’ll notice Double Lariat, ranking veteran over a year old, is still missing from the top thirty, and even magnet has finally dropped off… Very curious indeed.

…And so with that, we end this week’s Vocaloid Ranking review. Please join us again next week, and please send me to the Antarctic, anyone. The heat here is killing me!

  1. Rank 1 is great.. Gorgeous PV and nice song.
    I like rank 3 too.
4 is super fun, but I like stray girl in her lenses more.
I want to hear a fandub for 7. Twin’s tuning isn’t the best.
I still love 12, 15 and 22 from the last week (or two).
13 caught my ear and I’ll have to give it another listen.
    Really great week.

But what’s with this trend of old songs being bumped onto the ranking? (6 and 21 this week)

  2. Before I make my official comment, must say this:
Passionate squall is awesome, and actually doesn't have much Engrish. And hey, who stole my idea? I was gonna cover this song…!
…albeit with different Vocaloids, but nvm.
