Dayum… still no SP5?  Maybe we should start betting on what songs will appear on the Top-5… My bet is on Mosaic Roll and YowaMon somewhere in the top spot. I would love some GUMI in the top five, but I would love some Kagamine there more.

Naho’s Opening Statement:

“Good morning! Now’s the time for this week’s Vocaran!
Kouhaku* is coming soon! The mountains are all sprouting in red…! (not really!)
And it seems like this year we have a lot of matsutake mushrooms!

*Kouhaku is a Japanese musical contest held yearly and broadcast live on New Year’s Eve on NHK, where two teams (the Red, “kou”, and White, “haku”) composed of popular singers of the year compete.

This week too we have an abundant harvest of lovely matsutake– I mean, of new songs!
This week, it’s the deadline for the submission of songs for DIVA Arcade, so we especially have this kind of songs.

Well then, let’s check this week’s ranking!
As usual, we’ll start from 30th.

  Ohhey, haven’t seen you in a while Yuki. Great song.

  I can’t get over how much this DOESN’T sound like Miku. While I don’t like it, that is interesting.
• #28: 【初音ミク】カロン【オリジナルPV】 (↓22)
  I’m just not a big fan of this song. :/ I agree.
• #27: 【鏡音レン】パーフェクトソリューション【オリジナル・PV】 (↓21)
  Videos like this can entertain me for hours.
• #26: 【初音ミク】ホノカ【オリジナル曲PV付】 (!!)
  I do so love when Miku’s voice sounds like this, makes her so life-like I think. So chill and beautiful.
• #25: 初音ミク・巡音ルカ　オリジナル曲　「ワールズエンド・ダンスホール」 (↓13)
  Wow, that’s a big drop! Will it still be here next week, I wonder…. (probably)

  I love this song so much.
• #23: 【初音ミクappend】トラベリングムード【オリジナル曲】 (!!)
  The music is nice and the vocals sound good…. what I can hear of them that is. Both Append soft and sweet I could just listen too non-stop when it sounds like this, “Traveling Mood” indeed.
• #22: 【鏡音リン】ジュリエッタとロミヲ 【オリジナル曲】【初音ミク】 (↓4)
  Bonus points for awesome illustration.
• #21: 初音ミク×巡音ルカ　オリジナル曲「マスターオブパペッツ」PV (!!)
  *sniffsniff* I smell yuri…. *follows trail* Both of our Diva’s are very beautifully draw here. I do worry that PVs like these might give people siezures, or just headaches lol.
• #20: 「歌に形はないけれど」 オリジナル曲　vo.初音ミク (↑66)
  Old song from 2008 by an amazing producer! Probably a boost due to the new album dropping next month. Very deserving song for a bounce up.
• #19: Synchronicity～第二章　光と影の楽園～ (–)
  Out of left field comes another older amazing work! Wow I didn’t know the Sunchronicity series was still popular, the art is definitely amazing throughout the stories but I never got too “epic” a vibe from it. I love Rin and Miku’s appearances in the art the most.
• #18: 【初音ミク】 ハッピー・ラボ 【オリジナル曲】 (→)
  Digging both the song and PV.

  I love this song soooo much. Has an adorable theme on top of sounding nice.

  Sometimes of the things that trend up after their debut always amaze me.

  I finally got my husband to watch this and he even admitted the PV was amazing.

  Kagamines holding hands=WIN. Great song on top of that=BIGGER WIN. Good Lord Rin looks so cute.

  Nice guitar here.

  This will definitely be in at least the top ten of the SP5.

  This is mindblowing awesome.

  Not bad, love the drawings, but not the best example of GUMI’s voice.

  I like what I see and hear here, but I think I need translations to fully appreciate it.

  Head-bobbing song FTW! Pretty catchy, liking this P.

  Hmmm, probably won’t keep this one myself, but I WILL find the illustration. I’ll look at the subs later but why is this considered special?

Final Thoughts/Analysis:

Wow, all of the top five songs were new? I think it’s been a while since that happened. But they’re all Miku songs, so maybe she’s reestablishing her dominance? I’m wondering how Iroha will do on her first week, which will technically be next week (already??)! Hopefully better than Lily did, I’m in love w/ Iroha’s voice and ridiculous design.
