Weekly UTAU Ranking #105 – They Changed It; Now It Sucks

Title does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the editors of the UTAU Ranking posts. Actually, just the opposite. They revamped the UtaRan video format, and I, personally, kind of like it. In turn, I revamped the layout for these posts. I sincerely hope you enjoy. =)

Got a lot in store for you guys this week… I intentionally picked a picture with Ruko in it because apparently I totally missed her birthday. And boy is my face red! I didn’t get her a present or a blog post or anything! So this is my way of saying “happy birthday”. Happy birthday, Ruko! I know one blogger in particular who will be especially happy about all the songs coming out for your birthday. =D Is it little old me you’re talking about there? 😀 I forgot about it too. Been busy. >< It's hard to keep track of all the birthdays, I may write them on next year's calender so I DON'T miss them. I LOVE YOU RUKO PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!

  Great cover.

  Not a huge fan of this voice, but it’s not too bad here.

  Happy second anniversary Sayu-chan! You are still one of my favorite UTAU, and I hope to see many great songs from you in the future. After listening to Sayu’s voice, I will be searching and getting more songs by her.

  Now this is a high-quality, immensely under-appreciated UTAU. I have like, two songs with him. And they’re both phenomenal. This voice works really well here.

  Don’t really like it. Everything about it is solid, I just… don’t like it. Might be a matter of taste. The opening lines gave me chills, veryvery nice.
• #1: 【D’n’B】 シーケンスライフ 【雪歌ユフ】 (!!)
  This, however, is awesome. I love a good Yufu song. Hurray for Yufu! Amazing use of Yufu’s voice. I hope this producer does more w/ UTAU.

  Good way to get us prepped for the slew of Ruko songs in next week’s ranking. My lovely Ruko, you sound so amazing here. *swoons*

NAMI‘s ENDING NOTES:
Number one was tom_atom-san’s song with Sekka Yufu, “Sequence Life”. Congratulations! It’s a very fashionable song, very lovely ♪

EDITOR’s PICKS:
This is an experimental new section I’ve decided to try out after mulling it over for a while. Here I (and any other editor who feels like it) will post an UTAU video that is considered a “must-see”. The only requirement is it must be an UTAU original song. It could be a PV, an MMD video, or even just a really cool song. It doesn’t have to be new, but it can’t have been mentioned in this section before. We shouldn’t have that problem yet, though, since this section just got started. ^^;

deztora: My pick for this week is No Reaction. It’s a really cool song with a really great tuning of Teto’s voice, and I’m hoping to help it get some much-needed recognition.

bunnychan: My pick is for #ffffff for Shirataki Ito by my favorite producer, UtsuP. I think her voice fits really well w/ the style. I really like Ito’s nasally voice as well.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
We had a nice variety this week, which is always good. I’m actually a little sad for the loss of the New UTAU section, although that means less time spent painstakingly romanizing each name on the list…

We’re baccckkkk, and w/ a shiny new layout for the WUR. Do be sure to give dez some feedback so we can make help make it even better. Anyhow, some great images (lol) and songs this week. If I had to pick a single one, I’d say listen to the ending, ’cause Ruko is awesome like that.
