It is February 17th and that means it is now Nii-san’s birthday! Read on to help us celebrate.

It was five years ago to this day that the KAITO Vocaloid hit the market, developed from the voice of Fuuga Naoto and illustrated by Kawasaki Takashi. Unfortunately, he hit the market with little success, selling only around five hundred copies. Considered a failure by the general public, it was only after the release of the Vocaloid2 engine and Hatsune Miku that KAITO saw a raise in fame (while often times being the butt of jokes due to his earlier failure). But now he has found his place in the Vocaloid world, never to be found without his precious Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

For the past year KAITO has been the in the news a few times, including a few videos high in the Vocaloid Ranking, inclusion as a character, costumes, and a song in “Project DIVA 2nd,” DLC for the “Project DIVA 2nd” game, and that work on a KAITO Append has been in production since early December.

To start celebrating, let’s take a look at some popular KAITO songs from the past year.

  1. Isn’t Ye Lai Xiang a chinese song? I’m definitely going to give all of them a listen when I reach home! <3 Kaito!
