Vocaloid NND Weekly Ranking
Weekly Vocaloid Ranking “Unselected”

*Pokes head in* Hello? Hmm… well apparently Pengy must’ve passed out and left this here. I’m sure he’s so exhausted and emotionally drained after MikuPa, so I guess I’ll MC for today. New songs, old favorites, and confusing exclusions abound. #179 Vocaran after the break!

As all of you are aware by now, MikuPa 2011 happened on March 9th, so this was week’s Vocaran was released before that event, so Naho’s opening and ending statements are all speaking about things that have happened.

Naho’s Opening Statement:

“Finally, this week has come!” That’s what a lot of you are probably thinking tonight. First, please calm down!

People preparing their trip, others who will enjoy it at ease from their home, or who will gather in theaters to attend the public screenings: that’s what’s taking place all over the country.

So let’s warm up by watching the VocaRan! I think it’s a good occasion to see some of these songs in a new light.

Well then, let’s see the ranking!

Notes:

-Editors: Pengy, DTKel, Holocauxt, deztora, descent87, bunnychan, Krystal, redemption2

-Translator: kurisuto

-Song Status: Up (↑), Down (↓), Unmoved (→), Unranked (–), New (!!)

In Other Vocaloid News:

That was this week’s number 1!

Sorry to have kept you waiting, but now let’s talk about the concert!

Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 “Mikupa”
Opening on March 9th for Miku’s day, at Zepp Tokyo!
There will be live screenings in 15 theaters all over the country, as well as a NicoNico Live stream!

There will be sign sessions, and goodies will be sold at the “Shop Mikupa♪”, GT cars will be displayed, and lots of events will be held… but sadly, I won’t be able to attend it since I’m going to be collecting the data for the SP6. But I hope you’ll fully enjoy it, everyone!

Editor Picks of the week:

Final Thoughts/Analysis:

Well, it was a bit awkward with me doing the MC instead of Pengy this week. Thanks to him for always managing to pull it off every week until now. There was an overwhelming GUMI presence this week, and a lot of repeat showings in the list. I’m a bit confused why Miku is the one pictured in #3 when it’s GUMI doing the jamming, but I’m not complaining. It’s still cute. I suggest you all check my editor’s pick. Those who I already linked to it know it’s one remarkable piece.

…And so with that, we end this week’s Vocaloid Ranking review. Please join us again next week, and make sure to prepare of a lot of resurgences next week. I’m sure plenty of MikuPa watchers are going back to their old favorites for a nostalgia party. Yay, party!

Hey Pengy you owe us comments at least! I’m coming off my MikuPa high too ya know! (Well, maybe I am still on it.) You were a pro this week Red2, thanks for bringing us our dose of weekly Vocaloid goodness. I swear each Vocaran feels like Christmas (and when I get to do it I’m Santa! yaaaaaay!) Wow, might need some sleep…..

ANYWAYS…..It was actually a fairly diverse week in terms of style amongst the top 30. Kaito at #19 was a favorite for sure. Rounding out my top 5 for the week were some unexpected favorites perhaps: The pickup song featuring auto-tune Rin, Snow Love @ #22, the ED Song (complete with epic Gumi rapping, EPIC), and of course the song that just might bring about world peace, Mr. Music. (Keep on Groovin’ ®) Luka’s double top 10 appearance was a pleasant note of interest for the week for sure. Hachi and Deco*27 fans can rest assured that all is well in the world, and that their favorites continue to live eternally in the top 30. It was interesting to see some MikuPa songs on the list both new and old. I really enjoyed seeing Snow Trick in the history as well. It was before my time as a Vocaloid fan but I assumed that a song that beautiful would have ranked high, glad to see I was right. It will be interesting to see what else might be dug up by fans as a result of this week’s concert, tune in next week to find out. Remember that SP6 Rankings will be coming out soon, we will be sure to have them when they do! Have a great week everyone!

Thanks for covering for me this week Red2. I fixed a bit of problems in the code caused by wordpress, and added some of my own comments and such. Didn’t get a chance to watch MikuPa since I was asleep due to a Calculus test I had the next day. This week otherwise was fun, and it was nice having 3 people on the vocaran again!

  1. That ED song was beautiful, my favorite one from this ranking.
Thanks to it, I discovered nicomimi (since nicosound was down when i tried to grab the mp3), it lets you use a screenshot of the PV as album art and edit other tags of the ID3 before downloading the MP3, I only wish I discovered it much early : /

  2. Haha I knew when I heard it first time early this week that Mr. Music would top this chart ^^ I seriously hope Rerulili will release a single like he did with Knife. Also have you noticed Yuuki saying シイモン instead of クモン for "C'mon" ? Knowing that KagomeP is probably among the best English-speaking Ps, we'll not be out of funny Engrish song when Miku English will be released xD

Now let's see what we have this week, it's Friday and I've not yet completely digested my overdose of Mikupa.

    1. Yes I like Smiling Together and Dixie Flatline's Thread of a Dream. They are of similar style.

I will be honest though, Mr.Music cheers me up and inspires me in a way that even better than those two songs.

But very true, Vocaloid choruses are amazing when well made.

    1. The first song in the beginning is always the #1 song of the previous week, so this week it is 40mP's Cutoff Line.
