Has it really been a year since this adorable cucumber-loving yandere UTAU came into our lives? Ahhh, that it has. Read on to help us celebrate Tei’s first anniversary!

Tei was originally released on June 21, 2010 by the VIPPERs, the same group that has brought us Teto, Ruko, and Ritsu, to name a few. As such she has a few interesting points about her: Her name is a pun on the Scottie brand of tissue paper; the Q on her shoulder would be pronounced “kiru” in Japanese, which sounds like “kill;” she dislikes murder, despite being yandere; she has sharingan eyes; she is overly obsessed with Len; she has an extreme desire to kill Miku; and she enjoys baking cakes. A lot of people were upset at her release, pointing out her unoriginal design, voice, and personality, not knowing that all that was intentional troll attack. In this, she was a great success.

She was showcased with two original songs, “13km” and “DECARE WAR ON ALL VOC@LOID!”. Within a year of her release her voicebank has been constantly updated and has even had a VCV release.

You can visit her wiki site here and her Twitter here. Her original website is no longer online.

Now let us check out some of Tei’s more popular videos.

  1. Bunny, are you forcing UTAUs on us narrow-minded Vocaloid listeners ? XD

It's not that I don't like discovering new UTAUs but due to their sheer numbers aren't we going to end up with an Happy Birthday post every day of the year ?

I'll admit I'm a bit clueless about UTAUloids aside the usual triad Teto/Momo/Defoko (oh yes and I also know Yufu Sekka and her amazing soft voice thanks to this lovely duet with Miku.

But do we have a popularity ranking among the UTAUs somewhere ?

    1. Maybbeeeeee. *wink*

LOL, lordno, I'd never have time for anything if I even just tried to list every single UTAU's birthday. Basically I started a thread on the forums (http://www.vocaforum.com/showthread.php?t=1711) to try and get more timely birthday articles on the blog. I added in the main VIPPER UTAUloids because they really are the most famous (I also listed Defoko, but I really messed up on the dates and missed her's). The way it is set up right now, on a good year, we'd have five UTAU birthday posts.

That isn't to say that if someone were to ask if they could write a article for such-and-such-UTAU they would be turned down. Quite the opposite in fact! So long as the article is nicely done and has some material it will be posted (I don't want one that has one image and one picture and only says, "This is NAME and it's their birthday, okaybai"). Any inquiries about that can come to me.

As for UTAU popularity; well, that depends. The main VIPPER UTAU are in the top (Teto being number one) and others, such as Momo and Nana, have their periods of popularity. Since there are so many out there it's hard to become well known in the community; as such there are some really great UTAUs and some really bad ones. You just have to do some searching to find what you like.
