40mP + Tama? I wonder why that didn’t get #1… oh Kemu lol, that and 40mP released pretty late in the week, so expect it at #1 next week!

…And so with that, we end this week’s Vocaloid Ranking review. Please join us again next week, and time for Utau Rankings.

      1. Always. Even KEI (usually known for his Luka/Miku Vocarock) just released a new song with GUMI.

      2. If there’s a trend I think it did not last, Gumi is undoubtedly the second most popular voicebank and so far had managed to beat Miku on the top 30 a few time (5 or 6 ranking IIRC) but I have been surprised by Miku’s resilience against all these new higher quality V3, including Gumi herself. Lately IA has shown to be a bigger competition for Gumi than for Miku, as you can see Miku is a given on the top30 and Gumi as not achieved a constant an resilient presence, with one constant rule: the more diversity in the top30 the less Gumi.
I strongly suspect that most producers buy Miku first and then shift to a second voicebank afterwards. So far it was frequently Gumi the second choice but now there’s a lot of alternatives…

    1. Huh… I do input everything into a script that gives me the links and stuff… but damn that background…. so rainbowy D:

      1. As much as everyone would like this to happen, it will never happen because of popularity… unless Jin/Kemu/Last Note do songs with lesser known Vocaloids… which won’t happen of course.

        1. You don’t know what I would give to hear more Yuzuki, Iroha and Mew. But it is unlikely…

          1. Yuzuki is the most likely out of the 3, but if only all vocaloids got the same popularity as Miku/GUMI/IA.

          2. I also want to see other vocaloids other than ia/gumi/miku.. The ranking’s just keeps getting predictable every week.. When will the 31 and up be posted?

          3. I wonder if the rumor I heard is true… I stress this is a rumor but, I heard that First Place actually gave away copies of IA to big name P’s so they could make songs with her so she could become popular. Just look at the big names using her… anyone know if there is any truth to this? I’d like to think that IA’s popularity is due to her just being an impressive product.

          4. Mostly because of the voice provider, and Jin really… I doubt they would need to give copies away to become popular.

          5. @Sean Mocabee: It’s just a rumor. 1st PLACE did indeed give out *beta* versions of IA to producers it was interested in to help create demo songs and such, but they have stated that they have never given the full versions out to “famous producers”. It started when the main PR guy tweeted a joke that he’d like to give out free copies to big-name producers and had to backtrack on it and issue a public apology. That being said, IA is pretty popular because 1) the singer it’s based off of is a VERY talented and popular singer and 2) the voicebank quality is actually really good.

          6. I’m actually surprised it’s not a common practice by all editors short of CFM (they don’t need that) to give away a few voicebanks to well known producers …

      2. The only way to do that would be that Sipotan apply a deprecating factor in order to make room for more new songs. When I see Matrioshka or Senbonzakura still lurking in the top30 I really think that’s wasted advertizing opportunities for new songs / producers. I don’t have time to listen to the 31 and lower but I am sure there is more diversity around there.

  1. 【初音ミク】\ – Backslash【エレクトロハウス】 thats a cool mix of japanese & english =)
    恥ずかs×××/初音ミク WOW ^^
i´m surprised Gumi is Leading the Ranking but i think she has the right to.
The only think left is +30 Ranking (°o°)/

    1. Not really a big surprise that Gumi dominated this week’s ranking, it was the week of her Birthday after all. But, Regardless of that, Gumi is arguably the second most popular Vocaloid next to Miku herself.

    1. It is the previous weeks #1 which is this weeks #4. You can find an English translation of it here

Every OP is always the previous weeks #1

    1. I honestly don’t think CUL will be anywhere in any rankings… the only time I saw it recently was FuwariP’s vocarevo song thing. Other than that, not much. But theres usually some Yuzuki in the 31 and up, I just have to get to work on it…

    2. Did you both miss Yuzuki Yukari at 24 and in the Pick Up? As for CUL, I’d like to see more of what she can do. So far, IA has been the most successful V3 (and by far the most successful newcomer). I don’t think that even Gumi’s V3 has been used as much as IA.

  2. Gumi 13, Miku 11, IA 3, Len 2, Rin 1, Yukari 1
Been a long time Gumi had more positions in the top30 than Miku but well deserved with many good songs. Only problem is that it’s as usual detrimental to most of the other voicebanks since Miku stay strong. It’s fortunate we have a very nice song with Yukari.

And what’s up with this post ? Never saw so many comments…
